Founded in August 2019, this visionary payment services company was created by two friends. Having spent many years working with some of the world’s leading payment service providers and getting to know clients’ payment needs, limitations, and frustrations, they wanted to build a company that could offer a more honest, innovative and personal service.
Swipen began with this dedicated team of two in Edinburgh, offering fully tailored solutions to its merchants, including integrated payments, next day funds, pay by phone, and e-commerce.
However, just six months after Swipen’s launch, the world was struck by the Covid-19 pandemic. Companies across the world, from shops and facilities to restaurants and hotels were having to find new ways to conduct business.
It soon became apparent that being a small company was key to our success; we began partnering with other industry professionals to proactively improve and develop our software, and created an e-commerce system that is so adaptable and advanced that we can move faster than the big industry leaders.
We’ve been able to quickly and efficiently assist hundreds of customers with tailored payment solutions, including offering bespoke Order & Pay at Table facilities to Pizza Hut. We are one of only a handful of UK providers offering Apple Pay & Google Pay on-line, and became an authorised and regulated member of the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).
In the past two years we have expanded the team and have over 3,000 happy customers. We are also opening a second location in Glasgow and will be increasing our sales force further over the coming year.
We knew there was a better way and so we created Swipen.
