Scotia Cabins has used a well-known PSP (payment service provider) to facilitate its payments. Unfortunately, the team found the service and support offered by this company to be disappointing, and had also noticed a slow but steady increase in their rates over time.

Connecting With Swipen

Due to the nature of the products, sales of their cabins are generally high value, but fairly infrequent. Meaning they have a high ATV (average transaction value) and a relatively low transaction rate. They need to be able to take payments over the phone and on the move.

Swipen’s Virtual Terminal solution was perfect. Scotia Cabins can take payments on any device that can connect to the internet, take secure deposits over the phone, generate pay-by-link URLs for balances, and even take payments on delivery at the customer’s address.

Swipen provided this service with no minimum monthly service charge. There are no CNP (card not present) fees and no in-contract price changes. Scotia Cabins can therefore be confident that their rates will not increase covertly.
