Now in its ninth year, the Payments Awards recognise and celebrate companies that have demonstrated excellence and innovation in the payments space. The Marketing Campaign of the Year award celebrates a company that can show measurable success for an innovative and effective marketing campaign.
Marketing Campaign of the Year
Swipen has been shortlisted for its marketing campaign for 2020/2021. We began operating in August 2019 and within 12 months were having to adapt to this unprecedented pandemic. We developed and created new products and services that we knew could help our customers survive lockdowns and restrictions. Our challenge was how to get that message to the right people. We had no real social media presence and little experience of how to create publicity, particularly at a time when some of the usual methods, such as trade shows and face-to-face networking were off limits.
We asked graphic designer, Sara Holloway, who designed our Swipen logo and brand identity, to join the team and head up a marketing campaign. Before graduating with a First Class BA (Hons) degree in graphic design, Sara worked in marketing for eight years. She immediately set about creating and executing a plan that would increase brand awareness and promote our products and services through videos, social media posts, blogs, press releases, a re-designed website, improved SEO, adverts, and marketing materials.
Within just a few months, we were seeing solid results:
